It's Binary... PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 28 January 2010 21:37

A few facts about binary:
1) Binary is read from right to left.
2) The first digit has a value of 1, second digit has a value of 2, third has a value of 4, fourth has a value of 8.
256 128 64 32 16 8 4 2 1
3) You add the value of each digit to get the value of the binary expression

100001 = 33

32 16 8 4 2 1
  1   0 0 0 0 1

Scam PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 10 January 2010 20:32

Here is an example of a typical email scam.
Variation 1: the scammer will either send you a check for you to deposit and then send a check back to them from your account.
Since it's an international bank, it may take more than a few days to show up as a fictitious bank account.  Usually after the victim has already sent a check from their legitimate bank account.
Variation 2:
Scammer requests your bank account to transfer the money into.  You can just imagine what a scammer might do after they have your name, information and bank account info.
